Ed Murillo is an Assistant State’s Attorney with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office located in Cook County, Illinois. Ed has been an ASA since May of 2008 and is presently assigned to the Juvenile Delinquency Division where he actively screens, files and prosecutes crimes committed by youth under the age of eighteen. During his short career, Ed has worked in a variety of assignments, including the Criminal Appeals Division, Rolling Meadows Courthouse and the Child Protection Division. Prior to becoming an ASA, Ed worked as an intern in the Industrial Claims Division, the Felony Trial Division and the Traffic Division. He was also an intern at the Chicago Legal Clinic, a non-for-profit agency that provides legal services for the underserved and disadvantaged in the Chicago area. Ed is a graduate of Western Illinois University and The John Marshall Law School. While at John Marshall, he was elected to serve as the co-chair of the Illinois Latino Law Student Association (ILLSA) and assisted in the organization of 2007-2008 ILLSA Latino Law School Forum. At graduation, Ed received the 2008 Paul Kissane award for his commitment to the public service. Ed has also been recognized as a law student award recipient at the 2007 El Humanitario Ceremony. Ed is a lifelong resident of Chicago and currently serves on the national board of the National Hispanic Prosecutor’s Association (NHPA).
