Ed joined his parent’s plumbing and heating company in 1980 as an apprentice plumber. From 1980 through 1992 Ed worked in partnership with his parents, managing operations and budgets. He developed the air conditioning side of the business as well as the larger and more complex projects. In 1992 he bought out his parents and over the next 15 years grew the company from 1 million to over 9 million in sales (with up to 75 employees) developing an organizational model that was exemplar in the industry. In those years he shared that experience as a trainer, board member and CEO of a major industry business development group which has gone on to be very successful in its own right. During his career, the company acquired, merged and developed similar companies to accelerate its growth. During the real estate reversal of the past decade Ed contracted and consolidated those companies while re-branding its image to take advantage of the changes in the marketplace, especially the burgeoning residential alternative energy market. Managing this complex mix of business assets, Ed developed expertise not only in core contracting and service management specialties, but also in areas such as marketing and sales, multi-profit center development, and property evaluation.
