My role is to create and consistently deliver a high quality, guest focussed musical cruise experience, 7 days a week for 7 months at a time. For this role I manage a team of approximately 20 people, devising their schedules, ensuring safe, reliable operations within the vessel, overseeing their professional development as well as being their first point of contact for any professional or personal issues.

I wrote and arranged two headline shows – Edd Carr’s Electric Guitar Legends and Edd Carr’s Acoustic Guitar Legends. These are live music shows for the main theatre backed by the show band. Across the two shows I cover the great electric guitarists of pop, rock, jazz and blues as well as the great acoustic singer songwriters and the music of MTV Unplugged. As an acoustic soloist I perform four hours per night, six nights per week playing a wide span of repertoire depending on the requests from the audience. My repertoire is over 750 songs. I perform in Carnival’s main production shows with a cast of up to four singers and 15 dancers varying in styles from 70s disco, 80s rock, Vegas showgirl to live game show. Some shows feature the band on stage as well as in the orchestra pit. Across the three Carnival contracts I have played electric guitar in six, eight and ten-piece show bands. In our live sets we perform all popular western styles such as Rock, Pop, Soul, Blues, Country, Swing, Reggae, Instrumental, Funk, Cocktail Jazz etc. We are the house band for fly on acts such as jugglers and Motown singers, also for variety shows with comedians and musical numbers, play-ons etc. We play Latin standards for a dance class, teaching the Tango, Salsa and Cha-cha. When I worked on a Texas ship we performed dedicated Country sets and Dixie-jazz sets. I am regularly performing instrumental jazz in a guitar/double bass duo at the ship’s coffee shop. I have been appointed MD on a temporary basis, my job is to oversee and manage all of the musical acts on the ship as well as leading the show band. Show less
