After completing my Architect's Registration, I found the entire experience extremely painful and unnecessarily difficult. There weren't enough resources available to help candidates understand the roles and responsibilities of an Architect and what to expect through the APE examination process. I decided to build an online learning platform sharing my study notes and knowledge of the Architecture registration process with others in hopes it will make it easier for others to pass the exam in the future. I was contacted by the father of a friend, who knew I had skills and knowledge in early-stage business establishment and wanted me to help him establish a new Plastic Surgery practice. Even though I had no experience in the medical industry, I took on the challenge and helped him lay a solid foundation for his new business. My role included: - establish basic business infrastructure for the new practice including: - coordinating business registration with accountant- establishing an accounting/bookkeeping system- sourcing and onboarding a practice management system (Clinic2Cloud)- developing a business plan in collaboration with Dr Mo including: - setting business goals- establishing a financial budget- marketing research and review- establishing a market niche- developing customer profiles through interviews and surveys- developing a patient journey and operational procedure- developing and implementing a marketing strategy to bring in new patients in collaboration with the marketing consultant Panteya- coordinating recruitment of new team members and interviewing candidates- admin and reception duties at the clinic

I was brought on as the new Executive Director of Vibewire, Sydney's launchpad for Young Change Makers, at the end of the first COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. My role was to reopen the Ultimo headquarters and co-working space, as well as establish a new strategy and direction for the organisation in a post-COVID world. My responsibilities included:- developing a new business plan & strategy for the organisation- managing finances and cashflow- preparing and submitting grant applications- promoting the co-working space to recruit new members- day-to-day operations of the co-working space- organising training & education events for Young Entrepreneurs, including a monthly Meetup gathering with speakers- fortnightly reporting to the Board of Directors

Due to my unique relationship with Antoniades Architects, and a good working relationship with the Principal and Director Andreas, I was able to take up a lot of responsibility and diversity in my responsibilities in the firm. My responsibilities spanned a variety of roles including:- Project Architect- BIM Manager- Operations ManagerAfter the previous BIM Manager left the firm, I took up the dual role of BIM Manager while continuing my Architectural responsibilities. As part of that role, I:- reviewed and updated the Revit Library and Template, simplifying processes and improving efficiency.- established a new Revit operations standard to improve clarity in process and quality control. - regularly audited active Revit models- coordinated BIM model exchanges and coordination issues- provided ongoing training and assistance to all production staff.After completing my Architect's Registration, I proposed to Andreas to help with the management and operations of the firm, as I was already familiar with the processes and procedures of the practice and had many suggestions on what could be improved. During this time I was able to:- redesign our standard fee proposal, with a review of standard scope, terms & conditions- review of fee calculations- review of finances and expense calculations in relation to fees- develop a new marketing strategy to refine our- develop a new organisational structure- source and onboard a new management software, Accelo

I initially rejoined the team as a Graduate of Architecture, as the team already had a BIM Manager, where I was able to focus on my Architecture skills, leading new projects through feasibility and design. I worked independently in collaboration with the principal Andreas, and formed a very effective working relationship, and led the design and DA stages of many projects including:- Glebe Terraces- Daphne St Terraces- Allens Paradeas well as completed the CC documentation for:- Ralph St Apartments.- Moore St Student Housing (assisted)

My role at Crone was a 50/50 split between BIM Leader and a member of the Architectural team. As BIM Leader, my role was to assist the BIM Manager to establish and maintain a high industry standard of BIM process and model quality control. As a member of the Architectural team, I was part of the production of design and documentation for large scale projects. Achievements: Roselands Shopping Centre redevelopment Sydney, schematic and design development Revit modelling. Project measures over 126,000 square metres with a budget of approximately 300 million. My role is this project is to assist in project delivery as an advanced Revit specialist, as well as assist the Project Leader to manage the large and complex Revit model, which is targeted to become a 5D federated model. Over the last few months, I have developed advanced techniques to improve efficiency throughout the project, such as using BIMLink and other programs to accurately amend parametric data on a large scale, using Dynamo for Revit to develop parametric scripts to perform complex but repetitive tasks, as well as organisation and maintain of schedules and data into a simple, easily manageable form. In my time at Buchan, I was also given the opportunity to conduct Revit Basic Training sessions for other staff in the office who had no prior knowledge of using the program, to great success, which allowed them to begin working on future Revit based projects.

I was invited by Rizal Muzlim, coordinator for the Masters of Architecture studio at the University of Sydney to assist in the delivery of their computational design focused studio. My role was to run a 2 hours lab session with approximately 30 students over 13 weeks, to teach them all aspects of Grasshopper. From basic syntax and structure, to scripting techniques, to advanced optimisation and simulation techniques with add-ins such as Kangaroo Physics, Ladybug and Hoopsnake. These lab sessions directly assist the teaching objectives of their Studio sessions, in which they would apply the techniques they acquired in the labs and apply it to their own designs. I was also invited as a guest critic at the end of the semester to evaluate the students work.Overall, it was a very successful and rewarding experience.

As a Graduate Architect at Antoniades Architects, I was placed across numerous projects that came through the firm. Working closely with the director Andreas Antoniades, I assisted him in exploring and maximising the yield and return in feasibility studies of Multi-Residential Apartments and detailing potential design ideas while checking that all designs comply with relevant regulations and statutes, including SEPP, LEP's, DCP's and relevant Australian Standards. Significant projects that I was involved in included:Bosco Apartments152 Unit Multi Residential Development in Five Dock NSWConstruction Documentation StageMy role:- Assist the Project Architect in developing documentation from DA to Construction standard- Detail document all unit interiors, including all Wet Areas, Kitchen Joinery, Misc. Joinery and Electrical and Lighting Design- Assist in developing and managing a highly complex Revit modelWaterford Retirement Village11 Villas Seniors Living Development as a part of a larger Master Plan in Kincumber NSWConstruction Documentation StageMy role:- Independently developing documentation from DA to Construction standard- Acting as the lead consultant in the project by coordinating communication between all consultants and the builder to ensure documentation is completed accurately and on schedule- Resolve any immediate issues that come up during the building process which frequently involved making quick decisions and maintaining order between consultants. At Antoniades Architects, I was also placed in charge of most tasks that involved Graphic Design, which included:- developing drawings to presentation standard to be used in formal presentations to clients or issued as a Tender package for potential projects.- any Company Marketing material that may be required, which has included designing promotion posters for a Go-Kart Meet and Melbourne Cup Race day with clients

I was taken on by DWP Suters on a 2 month contract to assist in the documentation of two projects, Walgett Community College, a renovation and fit-out of college consisting of 7 separate blocks and site works, and Berwarrina Public School, a renovation and fit-out of a combined primary and secondary school consisting two large separate buildings and 2 new community services buildings.

As a Revit Draftsman at UPG, I was able to apply my extensive Revit skills to complete the design and documentation of a numerous medium-density housing projects. I worked across both DA and CC stages of projects.During DA stages, I would work closely with Design Architects who would sketch out an idea or design and pass it on to me to model in Revit. From then on, I would advise on any issues that may arise due to various constraints, such as BCA, Australian Standards or local government regulations. We would then go through multiple revisions before reaching a suitable outcome. During CC stages I would work independently to development a project from DA standard to CC standard. I would usually work individual across 1 or 2 projects at a time. Projects were completed in a very fast pace environment which meant I could have up to 4 projects come across my desk in a single week. A significant project that I was involved in Richmond Road, which was a major development of 300 Villas. I was leading a small team of 4 to complete the entire documentation package within a limited amount of time, which we able to do in a calm and efficient manner.
