I'm an award-winning, Emmy-nominated Director of film and TV, but I'm an artist first! I'm a creator of stories, distilled through my life experiences, and have been a storyteller for many years. As a people-watcher, I became an observer of human nature, and as a creative, I impose my presumptions on strangers and create fantastical stories. I’m never without a pen and a pad; if I see something interesting, I wait for the next interesting "scene" in real life, and if it doesn’t happen, I write it.My first professional storytelling experience, in 1994, was on celluloid: a feature film called Stone Cold Killers Los Jodedores. This was a story about a clan of dysfunctional misfits, which was acquired by Maverick Entertainment. M.E. also acquired Grand Opening, my second feature. I directed my fourth Feature film, 36 Saints, which was released by AMC and debuted theatrically in NYC, L.A. Chicago, Miami, and Tampa in September of that year. In 2013, I got into scripted TV and created Pale Blue Light, my first TV pilot. I wrote, produced, and directed PBL, a comedy-drama series about two brothers who attempt to navigate their way through the entertainment business after they inherit their father's failing record label. We’ve currently shot 4 episodes. Antonia Ellis, a producer with many hit shows to her credit, including Royal Pains and Sex in The City, helped me shop the pilot. I’m still looking for a distributor for Pale Blue Light. In 2019 I directed and edited the Story of Lorena Borjas: The Transgender Activist and I received a New York Emmy nomination. Lorena was a Mexican-American transgender woman and immigrant rights activist; she known as the mother of the transgender Latinx community in Queens, New York. Unfortunately, she passed away due to COVID 19 complications in March 2020.Currently, I’m enrolled at The Art Institute of Atlanta, and, before this pandemic hit, I had big plans for 2021. But, this pandemic has created a paradigm shift, which brings me to my current venture as we need to be prescient about how the near future may look and create a new normal. Welcome to ARTCYCLE where two of Life’s principle essentials meet: art and health. ARTCYCLE is a simple idea -- appreciating art outside of its conventional settings. Beautiful art doesn’t have to be confined to a gallery. We are also documenting the ARTCYCLE journey with an amazing local film crew in Florida.
