Started in my new role as Associate Director of Events. The biggest change to my job is that I will now supervise my own team (of an Events Coordinator and Assistant Director)! I will also generate the annual budget, evaluate and approve strategic events and report on our events to University leadership. All of that on top of planning and managing nearly 50 events annually. Look out world, here I come!

This reflects a promotion to Assistant Director (of Events/Donor Relations). Duties consist of conceptualizing, planning and implementing award winning events and programs for major gifts and annual giving at UC San Diego Health Sciences Advancement. Such events have included fundraising galas, board meetings, internal events, 5K walks, surfing contests and private dinners. I develop and manage event budgets, oversee vendors and volunteers, and manages mailing lists and night of registration. I help develops strategies to increase event participation and enhance the guest experience at events. This includes an emphasis on customer services through donor relations and collaboration with university departments such as marketing and communications. I oversee the production of event collateral and stewardship materials, providing art direction.

This was a temporary contract position with the Health Sciences Development office to assist with major events, mailings, and transition of staff. It developed into a permanent position with the Health Sciences Development Office to assist with major events, meetings, scheduling, data, mailings, and gift processing.

I worked part time while developing a career in event planning and fundraising. I demonstrated high-quality customer service in a face-to-face setting consistently surpassing membership sales goals.

I coordinated accounts for over 40 local and national non-profits and businesses during the fundraising season at United Way. I assist with large scale and small scale events, manage registration for said events and do research. Additionally, I run meetings and give presentations on behalf of the United Way and its community partners.

I work with Operation REACH, Inc. through the AmeriCorps VISTA program. I handle volunteer recruitment and VISTA hirings along with the CFO. I write grants and organize community events, such as the Youth Change Campaign. I also oversee a program called the Gulfsouth Youth Action Fund.

I worked in the camping, climbing and travel department before changing stores. Then, I added frontline, customer service, banking, clothing, footwear and outerwear to the mix. I designed and lead seminars for backcountry cooking, backpacking and international travel for women

I worked temporarily on the annual fundraising campaign with the United Way and in my short stay with them, I helped raise over a million dollars from my over 30 accounts alone!
