Eden is a settler on Treaty 1 territory who is passionate about ensuring her work embodies a decolonized, trauma-informed approach and promotes dialogue and transformation, environmental sustainability, and reconciliation. With a background in environmental science and Indigenous studies, she seeks to bridge western science with Indigenous ways of knowing to advocate for more holistic and equitable decision-making processes.As a project director and environmental planner at Narratives Inc., Eden has the honour of supporting communities across Canada with the various actions they are taking to protect their lands, assert their sovereignty, build their capacity, address social justice issues, and heal from the impacts of colonization, land dispossession, and the Indian residential school system. Her responsibilities include project management, strategic oversight, relationship-building, community engagement, qualitative research, and technical reporting.Eden is currently completing a Masters degree in Community Development at the University of Victoria. Before this, she completed an Honours degree in Environmental Science at the University of Manitoba, specializing in Indigenous Planning and minoring in Indigenous Studies. Through her academic coursework, Eden has obtained technical knowledge in areas of natural resource management, sustainable development, environmental planning, conservation and protected areas, and Indigenous community development. Her honours thesis investigated the potential for impact assessment to be used as a tool for reconciliation with Indigenous peoples through community-led models that harmonize settler and Indigenous laws.
