Strategic Sourcing - Hired to develop the Sourcing department for the Juarez, Mexico site after company was acquired by TPG Capital. Currently Managing Direct Material Spend used to make Single Use Ophthalmic Devices• Overseeing +140 Suppliers and ~$15M USD in Annual Spend• Identification, Selection & Development of high Quality Suppliers certified in ISO 13485 Quality Management Systems for Medical Devices• Work along with Supplier Quality team to validate and approve new Vendors• Geographically consolidate Suppliers around the Juarez, Mexico area to improve material lead time and logistics costs (~25% of total Spend in Scope to relocate in the first 2 years)• Contributing to the growth of the Customized Kits business for Ophthalmic Surgery procedures, by supporting the Sales and Marketing teams on adding/sourcing new variety of kit components (drapes, gowns, gloves, plastic trays, etc) to expand our catalog and make them available to our clients (Surgery Centers and Physicians) with the intention to increase sales and market presence• Support Project Managers to drive Cost Reduction projects impacting Direct Material Spend and Logistic costs• Cost Tracking Manager: Business Process Owner (maintain PPV)• Outstanding negotiation skills to drive effective negotiations with Suppliers for a Win-Win situation that will deliver Savings, avoid or minimize Price impacts and improve the Working Capital (obtaining better Payment Terms and Consignment/VMI with Key Suppliers)• Some of the main commodities with high Spend:Stainless Steel for Blades & Cannulas • Plastic Injection • Metal Stamping & Metal forming • Thermoformed Packaging • Plastic/Resin • Literature (IFUs) • Cardboard & SBS (Solid Bleached Sulfate) Packaging
