Senior Mechanical Technician
Current▨ Build complex mechanical spacecraft assemblies by reading blueprint specifications and detailed assembly procedures.▨ Utilize a range of material handling equipment, including forklifts, overhead cranes, lifting slings, and Flotrons, to safely transfer space vehicles.▨ Work with design and manufacturing engineering, manufacturing, materials, procurement and shipping personnel on procedural issues involving design, methods, tooling, cost and other areas involved in the control of product quality.▨ Promptly escalate issues related to material procurement, non-conformance procedures, and build discrepancies to the appropriate teams, ensuring timely completion of assembly by the scheduled deadline.▨ Extensive experience in working with composite materials, fasteners, and high-performance adhesives for aircraft assembly.▨ Proficient at reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals for aerospace assembly.▨ Collaborate with engineering teams to identify design improvements and enhance system reliability by implementing changes to drawings, procedures, and tooling.▨ Maintain comprehensive records of assembly, repairs, and inspections, ensuring full compliance with company standards and quality requirements.▨ Train new technicians in solar array assembly, covering all stages from bonding to final integration level.▨ Familiar with NASA, FAA, and AS9100 standards, ensuring all work aligns with regulatory and quality requirements.
