Waste Management Technical Working Group Member
The work of the TWG in developing the Criteria will be pivotal in enabling governments, businesses, and investors to assess the green credentials of projects and assets in the waste sector. Development of a science-based criteria is intended to facilitate capital flows to innovative, effective waste technologies and infrastructure that accelerates the transition to a low-carbon and climate-resilient economy. The TWG provides a potential path for certifying green bonds or other debt instruments in the sector, under the Climate Bonds Standard and Certification Scheme.

Edf Climate Corps Fellow
Identified reductions of over 32 million kWh/yr in electricity and 16,000 MT CO2e in greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency and generation projects while with Office Depot, America's greenest retailer in Newsweek's 2011 & 2012 rankings. Ranging across stores, supply chain, and headquarters, the projects contributing toward company savings include LED lighting, intelligent controls, high efficiency HVAC units, solar photovoltaics, and fuel cells. Office Depot would see an average payback of 3.0 years, average internal rate of return of 61%, average return on investment of 280%, and a total net present value of over $6 million by implementing the projects recommended (averages weighted). Additional to these projects I outlined a cost-effective plan for Office Depot to achieve organization-wide net positive energy by 2030. My work with Office Depot was documented as part of the "Years of Living Dangerously" documentary series produced by Showtime.
Project Manager
Served as project manager on over 15 new construction and existing building projects pursuing LEED certification and led all projects to certification levels meeting or exceeding owner goals. I led integrated project teams to reduce water and energy consumption in new construction projects by at least 20% compared to industry standards. I also developed company training program and sustainable policies adopted by executives. Further, I created tools, calculators, and templates to optimize resources, all of which are utilized by current employees. Lastly, I organized effort to prepare company for Certified Benefit Corporation certification anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2012.
Owner, Founder
I established an online retail company selling environmentally-conscious home and office building products, including furniture, paints & coatings, cleaning supplies, flooring and other home furnishings. This involved cultivating relationships and contracting with multiple manufacturers and distributors of wholesale vetted products. Among other tasks, I designed and managed the company website to ensure current information, research and publish sustainable living facts, and optimized website effectiveness through search engine optimization, optimizing shopper experience, and creating an attractive, user-friendly interface.
Paid Intern
I started with filing and data entry for this small architectural firm of 3 employees. Later on in the internship I would begin site visits, project measurements, ArchiCAD rendering, photographic documentation, and model building. Additionally, I was contracted to deconstruct the wood floor of the principal architect’s home to be reused over a newly installed radiant flooring system.
