Edf Climate Corps FellowOffice Depot May 2013 - Aug 2013Boca Raton, Florida, UsIdentified reductions of over 32 million kWh/yr in electricity and 16,000 MT CO2e in greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency and generation projects while with Office Depot, America's greenest retailer in Newsweek's 2011 & 2012 rankings. Ranging across stores, supply chain, and headquarters, the projects contributing toward company savings include LED lighting, intelligent controls, high efficiency HVAC units, solar photovoltaics, and fuel cells. Office Depot would see an average payback of 3.0 years, average internal rate of return of 61%, average return on investment of 280%, and a total net present value of over $6 million by implementing the projects recommended (averages weighted). Additional to these projects I outlined a cost-effective plan for Office Depot to achieve organization-wide net positive energy by 2030. My work with Office Depot was documented as part of the "Years of Living Dangerously" documentary series produced by Showtime. -
