Working directly with senior Executives and Board committees, managing the production and analysis of statutory accounting information across ARTC along with transactional and payroll processes. Providing leadership and governance oversight, coordination and delivery of the financial strategy including as member of various steering committees, management of financial transaction outcomes and related delegations.

Responsible for:-Oversight of the preparation of financial statements, including presenting complex financial matters to Audit and Compliance Committees-Overview of ARTC’s Accounting and Tax Registers, working with the business to ensure compliance but with a focus on working together-Provision of technical accounting advice to the business with a commercial lense

Helping sort out a couple of years of financial statements for an adventure tours operator, and bedding in a new general ledger, along with new processes.

This position involved developing, testing and implementing a new £120m budget IT platform for both Adam & Company and Coutts & Co. The new platform included a new general ledger and a new reporting data warehouse. I was responsible for the implementation of all Financial Control reporting including FSA returns, Bank of England returns, Financial Statements, Group reporting and initial management reports. I had to work with the business at the highest level, to ensure that the financial and regulatory requirements are supported by the other areas of the business. As the software is Switzerland based and Coutts & Co is London based I had to run a team which was located in three areas, Edinburgh, Zurich and London. In addition I was required to manage workload across multiple teams, supporting other SMEs.

Adam & Company Group (Adam) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Scotland. Comprising a fully licensed bank with an investment administration arm, an investment management subsidiary and an offshore licensed banking subsidiary. The role reported directly to the Finance Director and was responsible for running a team of 8. Main responsibilities included supervising the preparation of management and statutory accounts and reporting to the Board and parent company. Further key areas of responsibility included:Budgeting process, Regulatory Reporting (FSA and Bank of England), Management information, Board paper production, Liaising and collaborate with external auditors, Representing finance on various committees and projects, Co-ordinating and maintaining the relationships between Adam and the various areas of the Royal Bank of Scotland GroupProviding tax computations to RBS Group TaxSubmit returns to the RBS Regulatory Reporting areaAlso responsible for the continuous development work within the department, including introducing new budgeting processes, streamlining processes and engaging staff in efficiency drives.
