Oversees the administration for the National Security Education Program's "Language Flagship" program, which provides support to undergraduate and graduate university programs and a limited number of pilot K-16 programs. Flagship Centers are based at US institutions and offer an on-campus curriculum coupled with intensive study at overseas Flagship centers. He will to work supporting foreign language research and materials development, through the "Language Flagship: Diffusion of Innovation" grants. These grants will increase the scope and scale of advanced language learning by making Flagship program innovations available to students and programs across the U.S. The Language Flagship programs are committed to diffusing successful language learning models throughout higher education, by implementing new models of language learning, assessment, and standards development. The Diffusion of Innovation grants will dramatically enhance the reach of Flagship nationally.
