Initially working with Prism software, I utilized SAP's MM module after Pliva was purchased by Barr Labs in October 2006-As the first Purchasing Agent assigned to Plant Engineering & MRO, I was able to develop and establish criteria for standardizing the workload with plant engineering and maintenance groups. I 'wrote the book' for the Purchasing Dept. procedures in order to develop RFQs, sealed bids, site review meetings, etc.-Annual spend was $12-15MM with negotiated savings of 5 -7%-Managed the company's 150+ cell phone program and standardized on 2 models of phones for both domestic and international use which created the need to carry substantially less spare parts inventory. Eliminated unnecessary lines which resulted in an immediate savings of $2,400.00 per month.-Established corporate buying agreements with both office furniture and cubicle seating OEMs plus standardized work space layouts into 4 categories based on job titles during a steady growth period-Entered into an annual agreement with an A&E firm in order to regulate existing office space within the dozen and one-half building manufacturing complex.-Note: Barr Labs bought Pliva in October 2006 which was then purchased by Teva Pharmaceuticals around 2010. The plant in East Hanover, NJ was completely closed in March 2012.
