I project manage the installation of PBX systems and coordinate the migration to SIP technology. I have been the primary telecommunications engineer for the Gannett, USA Today Headquarters since 1995, and now also the newly created Tegna (the broadcasting division split from Gannett in 2015). I regularly prepare telecommunications audits of phone bills for locations in order to optimize expenditures by reviewing the bills and correlating this to the PBX or by tracing cables at the demarc. By disconnecting surplus and/or dormant elements, several hundred to several thousand dollars a month is costs can be saved. My training is a combination of being self taught, personal research, reading manuals and technical specifications, and also from Avaya training classes.Concurrent responsibilities are to maintain the systems day to day and to react to any alarms or outages that occur across multiple gateways throughout the country.
