About Eduardo Wojcikiewicz
A curiosity-driven data scientist with ample research experience, having several published papers on astrophysics and two granted patents on new methods and techniques I have developed in my job. I am a self learner who's obsessed in finding the "hows" and "whys" of the world and the Universe.I am proud to have taken the Data Science & Analytics chapter of Flex/code7 (two companies from the Connvert holding, then just a single company) from paper to reality, designing the solutions, hiring data scientists and coaching them on their careers, and becoming a technical lead. After 2.5 years, I moved on to the next challenge on Loggi, working with a dream team of amazing scientists and developers, to deal with the challenging problem of understanding and minimizing package loss. From there I arrived at Trustly, where I honed my dashboard and visualization skills working in a ultra fast paced environment and fell in love with Technical Writing, being responsible for documenting almost all of our internal dashboards and analytical tools.During my academic research and professional experience, I've developed skills such as- Leadership, leading a team of highly skilled data scientists;- Team building, by selecting, interviewing and coaching new professionals onto high-performance teams;- Creative thinking, by squeezing the mathematical toolset I acquired as a physicist to novel uses;- Analytical approach for problem solving;- Data storytelling, by finding the best way to visually portray insights and KPIs, to build reports and dashboards;- Data acquisition - From equipment operation to experiment design, laboratory practices, and some SQL experience;- Data cleaning - From raw, messy data to insightful action;- Data analysis - With a solid statistical and scientific intuition guiding the exploration and analysis; - Data modeling - Not only sklearn’s .fit() and .predict(), but I actively develop and investigate mathematical models to data, according to my hunches;In many ways, the job of a physicist and a data scientist are consonant: Both peer the world around them through data, formulate hypotheses about the hidden connections between events and effects, develop models and verify their premises. I truly enjoy doing science, and since I began working as a data scientist, I feel as fulfilled as I could be, because I can do high-impact science.My tech stack includes Python, C, R, Linux shell scripting and several Machine Learning methods. I also have some experience working with neural networks and deep learning.
