On-site, project engineer for 90 Devonport Road, New Zealand's largest mass timber office building. This 8-storey timber framed building is constructed from LVL columns and beams with CLT floor panels, steel K-frames and glass curtain wall facade. It will be the new Tauranga City Council offices and will breathe new life into Tauranga CBD. The building will achieve the highest 6-star green star rating, with all of it's timber being grown and processed in New Zealand. It is also carbon neutral and showcases the ever expanding capabilities of mass timber for the large-scale commercial construction sector.

I promote the art and science of earth and natural buildings, through education, workshops, knowledge sharing and structural design. I support EBANZ and its key members to foster knowledge sharing, and good design practice in line with the New Zealand Earth Building Standards. I only work on earth buildings which intend to meet the New Zealand Building Code requirements. I encourage engineers and architectural professionals and students to better understand the benefits of this type of construction/housing. Especially in breathability, energy efficiency, non-toxicity and overall carbon footprint.I help bridge the gap between the existing construction industry and field of earth and natural buildings, especially around engineering and architectural detailing of the building envelope and build time and cost estimation.

Alongside my structural design work, I managed small teams to deliver complex projects, working closely with the director and clients to achieve project objectives, timeframes and budgets. I held many talks with the technical committee providing education on sustainable engineering technologies in the structural sector.
