With eight years of experience under my belt in the maritime industry, most latterly as a Captain on the River Thames, I really enjoy the operational and people management side of my role; having reached the top of my current career advancement trajectory in this particular sector, I am seeking to further my career in operations in a new area of work. My preferred sectors would be the environmental sector, in particular managing and protecting the UK’s inland waterways, or in the brewing industry, which is my absolute passion. I have been brought up in a safety-first culture and bring genuine safety-consciousness to all aspects of my professional life, maintaining a safe and productive working environment whilst still endeavouring to create an enjoyable working atmosphere. I have recently discovered a love for training, and imparting my knowledge onto my colleagues; I am able to acquire new skills quickly and complete a diverse range of tasks with proficiency, and keen to think both laterally and methodically about any challenges that present themselves. Outside work, I am passionately creative, and keen to tackle any challenge with a creative element; I enjoy music of various disparate genres, watching and playing sport (particularly rugby), reading and creating literature, and theatre and performance across a wide range of mediums.
