I've spent much of my life helping others throughout my many experiences growing up. From serving in my Boy Scout Troop to unloading boxes for food banks, I've had many worthwhile, hands-on opportunities to build my skills as a team player and leader. Everything helps build character, and my story is no exception! My most recent experience in my life has been my time spent at Imagine International Academy of North Texas serving as an Instructional Aide. Although I am not yet an official, certified teacher, I have had the opportunity to instruct and even substitute for various elementary school classes while adhering to different lesson plans as directed by my team. It has given me a great deal of confidence and firsthand knowledge in my ability to lead a classroom, while also conditioning me to manage my time. Just like how someone trains to run greater distances or conserve energy efficiently in their tasks, I have come to see teaching as a similar endeavor. The hours can seem very long and your head is often spinning from how much activity is taking place. But as I’ve said before, everything helps build character, and I have definitely seen the positive outcomes of evaluating my own performance as I help teach.With these lessons in mind, I wish to apply myself even more as I step further into the field of education, as well as my other hobbies and passions such as digital art, writing, and video editing. I love the process and methodology behind the conveying and explanation of concepts, which I learned through my love of history and storytelling. My hope for today is that the skills and ideas which were imprinted on me as I grew up and learned can be used by me to leave behind that same legacy of pursuing knowledge and asking more questions.
