I have served as a Salvation Army officer (ordained clergy) since 1993 in a variety of appointments, including as a Corps Officer (pastor) at the Leeward Corps (now Honolulu Kroc Center) and the Pasadena Tabernacle,in administrative and leadership positions at Divisional Headquarters (DYCS and DC), as the Program Secretary at Territorial Headquarters in the USA West, and on the staff of College for Officer Training. From 2012-2016, I served as the Secretary for Program for the United States Western Territory of The Salvation Army. The Western Territory includes the Western 13 states, The Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, Guam, and Saipan. The Secretary for Program has the privilege of giving supervision to the 13 departments and ministries of the Program Section. These were Social Services, Youth, Music, Kroc Centers and Community Centers, Multi-Media, SAVN.tv, Social Justice, Multi-Cultural, Correctional Services, Spiritual Formation, Program Services, Missions, and Corps Ministries. I was appointed to The Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar with Thailand Territory in 2016 as Chief Secretary. It included many different programs and services, including thriving corps in both urban and rural settings, services to the aged and children's homes, social services of many kinds, and a very productive Thrift Store and salvage operation. In my role, I had the privilege of serving as part of the leadership team that gave oversight to the expanding and diverse work of the Army's ministry in the territory, a ministry committed to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in obedience to the Great Commission, and meeting human need in Jesus' name.I was privileged to serve in the Canada and Bermuda Territory from 2018-2021. The territory consists of Salvation Army work in 400 communities spread across 8 divisions. There are 600 active officers and over 7,000 full time employees. My involvement includes what might best be described as the Chief Operating Officer role for the Army’s business, personnel, mission, and communications functions. I was appointed, effective May 1, 2021, as the International Secretary for the Americas and Caribbean Zone at International Headquarters in London. On August 3, 2023, I began service as The Chief of the Staff. Before becoming an officer, I worked 5 years for Wellington Food Company and 6 years as an employee of the Southern California DIvision, most notably as the Executive Director of the Los Angleles Red Shield Youth and Community Center for 4 years.
