As a procurement forester at Canfor, I am responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing timber from private landowners and other suppliers. I use my skills in ArcGIS products and geographic information systems (GIS) to assess timber quality, quantity, and availability, and to ensure environmental compliance and sustainability. I hold a BS in Forest Management/Forest Resources Management from Mississippi State University, where I learned the fundamentals of forest ecology, economics, and policy. In addition I interned as a procurement forester at Huxford Pole & Timber Co., where I worked with landowners, contractors, and mills to procure and deliver timber products. I am passionate about forestry and its role in conserving and enhancing the natural environment, as well as contributing to the economic and social well-being of the communities. I am always eager to learn new skills, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and pursue new opportunities in the forestry sector.
