The best part of earning a Bachelor of Science is I became a resourceful and dynamic professional individual, with broad range of experience in laboratory research. During my academic career I had the honor to conduct a ground-breaking research on diabetes under the supervision of Carlos A. Garcia, PhD., and the Ronald McNair Scholars Program. Since then, I have become very excited to explore new ideas that can help to create and develop innovating products for the advance in the biomedical research industry. From 2010-2012 Dr. Garcia invited me to conduct a research on the amygdala; an almond-shape set of neurons located deep in the brain's medial temporal lobe. The purpose of the study was to investigate how hyperglycemia induced apoptotic pathways in the cells of the mammalian amygdala. Being part of such a ground-breaking study gave me the opportunity to be a second author of a poster presentation for the 72nd American Diabetes Association (ADA) Scientific Sessions. This event took place June 8-12, 2012 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Moreover, having conducted a ground-breaking study in college, gave me the amazing opportunity to work at the Institute of Surgical Research, located in San Antonio Military Medical Center. There I had the opportunity to conduct research in clinical trauma and combat casualties. I worked along principal investigators and more experienced laboratory technician. The lab environment was an amazing experience and taught me to work at a fast pace, master my skills, and acquire new ones. As you will see on my enclosed resume, the depth of my experience in laboratory research offers you the opportunity to hire someone with laboratory experience. By looking at your requirements I consider myself capable of making the difference in your company. If you give me the opportunity to be part of your team will become an asset to your company. I look forward to hearing from you so that we can schedule a meeting.
