I resurrected this arts and literature journal as a volunteer project to provide students with experiential education opportunities they cannot get elsewhere. The journal is all-volunteer and populated with students from English and writing programs, but also from other programs of study. The Journal is funded by Vanier College (Student) Council and has been since Existere was founded in 1978. The journal is sold across Canada and we publish poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and art from around the world twice per year. Students who have volunteered at Existere under my mentorship have gone on to careers in writing, publishing, communications, and teaching.
