As an accomplished communications specialist representing people with disabilities, museums, national media and organizations that support the greater good, I have established a reputation for taking a long-term strategic approach for my clients. Whether developing a multi-tiered communications plan or promoting a single event, I aim to identify and support the overall need beyond a short-term goal. Notably, I developed the only wire service to feature content by people with disabilities. I also launched the animated PBS math program Cyberchase with major national press while generating intense online buzz that carried the program to great success over six seasons. I also created publicity protocols, press release templates and localized plans to support Cyberchase museum exhibits, events, and educational projects in local markets across the country. Likewise, I worked closely with regional PBS stations on efforts to utilize educational on-air and digital assets beyond broadcast in schools through the National Teacher Training Institute. My work at the Staten Island Museum raised the institution's profile in the local community and developed new initiatives to reach out to emerging communities in lower Manhattan. My efforts achieved national and regional publicity for local exhibitions and events that drove increased visitation and improved participation in education and public programming. My clients include:Lifestyles for the DisabledThirteen/WNET New YorkMacaulay Honors CollegeStaten Island MuseumProject HospitalityThe March of DimesIn the MixBill MoyersAmerican MastersNYC.comTime/Warner CableBrown and Powers AssociatesSt. George Day FestivalSociety of African MissionsBrooklyn Lung Association National Teacher Training Institute Teen Leadership Institute Staten Island Tourism Council
