My name is Edward "Teddy" Lancaster; I am a fourth-year student at the University of Florida pursuing a Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering and a minor in engineering innovation with an expected graduation in December 2025. I am seeking a spring or summer internship position with a distinguished company where I can grow my skills, experience the workplace firsthand, and contribute to the organization's mission.I recently completed a rewarding summer internship with Piper Aircraft in Vero Beach, Florida where I worked under the Powerplant Mechanical Systems team as an Engineering Intern. One of my primary functions was creating and revising solid models and engineering drawings of mechanical aircraft components, assemblies, and systems in Siemens NX. I engineered a comprehensive fuel system service kit, retrofitting legacy aircraft with updated parts and hardware, and authored Engineering Orders to ensure precise implementation of design changes in strict compliance with company and industry standards. Drafting Engineering Work Orders, I managed resources while collaborating with other engineering teams to ensure project goals were achieved. My enriching internship at Piper Aircraft cemented my desire to join an innovative company in the aerospace industry.As a student, I have garnered valuable experience as an active member of my design team, Solar Gators. At Solar Gators, our mission is to design, build, and race the best solar-powered car while showcasing the potential of solar energy. We proudly represent the University of Florida in the Formula Sun Grand Prix (FSGP) and American Solar Challenge competitions. This year, I accepted the Auxiliary Team Lead position. As the leader of a new subsystem for Solar Gators, I am excited about an undertaking that I can have a great influence on. My team serves to design and manufacture a variety of mechanical systems inside the solar car that often deal with physical interfacing between different subsystems. Furthermore, I employ my knowledge to help nurture my team members into better engineers.Outside of my academics, my passion for aviation has been a lifelong fascination, and recently, I took a significant step by earning my private pilot's license. During my journey as a student pilot, I became more decisive with an emphasis on clarity, and I continue to use those skills even when I'm not in the cockpit. I am a proactive learner who seeks to expand my knowledge and skills, and I believe I will be an asset to your team.
