I have written over 300 articles on real estate, opinion letters, and recordation and transfer taxes, and I have made more than 100 presentations on these subjects. As an experienced real estate lawyer, I know how to help my clients meet their business goals quickly and efficiently. My practice focuses on financing, leasing, purchase and sale, and recordation and transfer taxes. My practice also includes rendering third party opinion letters. I have also served as an expert witness on cases relating to real estate and professional liability matters. In addition to my work for specific client matters, I have been honored for successfully helping to pass legislation that restructured how recordation tax applies to indemnity deeds of trust (IDOTs) and other security instruments in the State of Maryland, as well as legislation that changed the Rule Against Perpetuities as it applies to commercial transactions in Maryland. I have also drafted and testified on legislation that changed exemptions from the recordation and transfer taxes on the transfer of controlling interests of Maryland real property entities.
