As a Sound and Light Technician, I operate the audio and systems, assist with sound needs throughout the rest of the ship including but are not limited to – The Showroom Atsea, advise and coordinate any additional audio needs of Charters and group. Provide knowledge and assistance to staff working in other venues in audio installations across the ship, provide technical support for all Entertainment Department activities and programs including set-up and strike of stage settings as required by the ETM, and coordinate with on-board staff to facilitate repair of broken equipment and maintenance of entertainment department systems.

As a Lounge Technician, I am in charge to operate the audio and lighting systems in the Queens Lounge. Assist with light and sound needs throughout the rest of the ship including but are not limited to – The Queens Lounge/Culinary Arts Center, Lido Pool, Ocean Bar, Northern Lights, Observation Lounge, Explorer’s Lounge, Half Moon Cay, the Meeting rooms, advise and coordinate any additional audio needs of Charters and group. Provide technical support for all Entertainment Department activities and programs including set-up and strike of stage settings as required by the ETM, maintain all entertainment lighting/audio equipment in conjunction with the Audio and Light Technicians. Coordinate with on-board staff to facilitate repair of broken equipment and maintenance of entertainment department systems.

As an Assistant Broadcast Technician, I operate the ship’s Satellite dish and the ship’s Satellite positioning machinery. Broadcast media materials as scheduled by the HAL entertainment office. I also act as projectionist in the Screening Room or Culinary Arts Theater for on board movies, operate camera and video recording equipment for groups and activities on board. Coordinate the operation and programming of the ship’s background music system. Responsible for set-up and take down of religious services. Assist the entertainment department in other activities as directed by the Broadcast Engineer, the Entertainment Technical Manager and the Event Manager. I also make repairs to equipment as possible, contact other departments to follow up on repair and maintenance issues, coordinate with the Entertainment Technical Manager to prepare a work order for repairs. Coordinate the maintenance of the ship’s background music system, understand and adhere to all licensing agreements of broadcast materials and take responsibility for the company’s inventory of broadcast media.
