Provide in-depth knowledge, expertise and technical guidance to maintenance personnel performing aircraft and sub system maintenance, evaluate maintenance operations and facilities for compliance with all Federal Aviation Regulations, directives, technical manuals, work standards, safety procedures, and operational policies. Review and identify logistical requirements, initiates purchase requisitions for stock as required. Monitor required management action is initiated to support scheduled, safety-of-flight, configuration and maintenance-mandatory requirements within the specified time frames in an efficient and effective manner. Make critical and timely decisions in managing definite courses of action directly impacting the daily maintenance, availability and airworthiness of aircraft. Responsible for planning, scheduling, and controlling the flow of maintenance within the work center to meet aircraft training requirements. Perform contract oversight of a large and complex Federal Aviation Administration rotary wing repair station (Part 145). Ensure the contractors repair and maintenance programs for the rotary wing aircraft systems are maintained in accordance with contract and Federal regulatory specifications. Verify the certification and training of all employees conducting specialized repair and maintenance procedures within the repair facilities.
