I chose to take a step back from work in order to give my mind, body, and mental health a break. I used this time to try new things like rock climbing and tennis, and to dive back into things I've always enjoyed like baking, hiking, and volunteering. During this time, I volunteered on a weekly basis with StepUp Durham, helping people with job preparedness skills such as building resumes and participating in mock interviews.
