Role included; working alongside a diverse team, inventory management of MRO (maintenance, repair & operation) materials for automation applications, procurement of materials and general upkeep of storage locations.Assisted the Spare Parts Coordinator with determining effective reorder point and max stock levels to remain within budget allocated for the maintenance department. Procured materials for daily, monthly and project requirements, including plant-wide machinery change for the new model (Lexus RX 350 seats & doors) involving coordination with engineering and maintenance management. Utilized “stock transfers” to prevent shortage and potential shutdown of manufacturing.Requested & acquired quotes from vendors (typically 2-3) for non-proprietary materials as a standard supplier evaluation technique. Submitted requisitions through Oracle to be approved by management and on occasion, our President for capital expenditures. After requisitions are processed, updating our maintenance department chequebook was integral to capture all costs involved with procurement of spare parts & materials.Maintained excellent tidiness of the spare parts warehouse to uphold the integrity and function of spare parts and materials.

Labour intensive job that was perfect for a student; basic implementations and requirements of both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 were understood. Recognized the effectiveness of JIT (Just-in-time) manufacturing methods, which coordinated the scheduling system of the supply chain entirely. Maintained daily social distancing, used PPE appropriately and upheld sanitization standards before operation at each station.
