Evaluating techniques for RTK GPS-assisted heliostat field installation

• Mimicked jumping archer fish motion using programmable tank-mounted mechanisms towing hydrofoil fish models and analyzed fluid flow data using MATLAB scripts.
• Designed Arduino controlled mechanisms to tow model out of water and to perform variable amplitude and frequency oscillations using DC motors and servos. Arduino also samples potentiometer and encoders to record.
• Developed simple path-finding algorithm to generate instructions for stepper-driven mechanism. Currently updating vertical tow mechanism to include torque feedback control.

Repairs and maintains Harvey Mudd College's fleet of bikes for students

• Developed a 4-axis automated production robot for dispensing specific volumes of silicone adhesive on two faces of a part. Designed a custom vacuum fixture to carefully grab the part.
• Programmed a microprocessor motion control board in C to interface with stepper-driven gantries, rotational axes, sensors and pneumatic valves. Established repeatability of volumetric dispensing performance.
• Built a machine and software for testing material properties of adhesives. GUI with live plotting connects to USB serial devices to record force and linear position.
