Faro Mine Remediation Project

- Working with regional Inuit organizations to support documentation and use of Inuit Qauijimajatuqangit and Traditional and Local Knowledge alongside science for federal decision-making on issues and priorities related to the marine environment- Supporting Strategic Environmental Assessments in the Beaufort Sea and Baffin Bay/Davis Strait regions and associated ongoing monitoring programs- Providing analytical and strategic advice on environmental and natural resource management issues for senior management- Initiating and advancing projects through the Arctic Council’s Working Group on the Protection of the Arctic Marine Environment (PAME)- Participating in and facilitating community engagement sessions and activities with traditional/local knowledge holders, elders, youth, and general public in Northern communities.

Working for various marketing companies and representing clients to:- increase brand awareness and generate new sales opportunities- represent companies at trade shows, sporting and music events, other pop-up opportunities through use of guerrilla marketing tactics- create a positive brand experience- communicating with media and participating in client photo shoots as requested

- Completed various National Wildlife Area management and field-based biological studies including assessment of species at risk habitat and population surveys- Traveled for extended periods of time, and work in remote field settings- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and establish priorities related to completion of ecological monitoring surveys, and routine maintenance of facilities, grounds, and infrastructure at Long Point and Big Creek National Wildlife Areas- Operated and helped maintain motorized boats, ATVs and field equipment

- Responsible for writing Departmental policy instruments related to: physical and personnel security; business continuity planning; emergency services; occupational health and safety; administrative and IT forensics investigations; and, radiation safety.- Assisting with establishment of strategies to identify top compliance risks to the Department and developing accompanying multi-year risk mitigation strategies.

- Completed preliminary budget preparations- Sought, applied for and secured external sources of funding- Supervised university interns, providing guidance and input on academic projects- Developed and presented educational workshops for teachers, students and environmental professionals- Coordinated volunteer groups of up to 50 people- Oversaw Planting 4 Change, an Ontario-wide schoolyard tree planting and monitoring program

- Completed environmental screenings and post reclamation work for pipeline integrity digs across Ontario- Assessed property for qualification for Species at Risk Habitat Compensation for an Ontario solar project- Completed reptile habitat assessments, breeding bird surveys, and vegetation assessments for an Ontario mining project- Gained familiarity and confidence in preparing briefing materials for senior management and presenting project specific issues related to resource management

- Collected, stored and identified benthic macroinvertebrates for over 50 sites, in conjunction with the Ontario Benthos Biomonitoring Network- Completed baseflow assessments for over 25 streams and tributaries- Prepared for and completed Provincial Water Quality Monitoring Network sampling- Performed routine maintenance and downloaded data on Provincial Groundwater Monitoring Network wells- Performed data entry and summaries using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access

- Created spreadsheets to organize fieldwork data for use in scientific reports- Completed Natural Heritage Assessment reports for submittal to the Ministry of Natural Resources- Responsible for internal and external correspondence with co-workers, private landowners and municipalities- Participated in various fieldwork assessments for wind energy projects in southern Ontario: frog call counts, breeding bird surveys, vegetation surveys, and technical assessments for Ecological Land Classification and Ontario Wetland Evaluation System fieldwork

- Continued solidification of leadership skills through independent teaching and facilitating of environmental and ecology based programs- Instructed various Girl Guides, Brownies, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts programs to ensure members earn specific badges (e.g. exploring badge, emergency preparedness, orienteering)- Created a fungus field guide and developed a Decomposer’s Lunch program, now offered to visiting classes- Designed and produced a number of additional products for the centre, including posters, displays, interactive games and activities.

- Independently prepared food and routinely inspected new bee nuclei- Inspected habitat and health temperature parameters of apiaries across the Kawartha Lakes Region- Participated in research initiatives on the effects of low-level EM frequencies on honey bees- Constructed bee boxes and completed general maintenance tasks around the apiary- Jarred honey, made beeswax candles, and prepared various products from the hive- Set-up at local farmers' markets twice a week to market and sell products
