Furthermore, I learned that the rate limiting factor in healthcare is not always who you think it is. It could be your nurse, doctor, or therapist, but could just as easily be a housekeeper, phlebotomist, or medical assistant. Every single team member is essential. The post-pandemic world was a call to action, and I had to make a difference where I could: workforce development. At San Manuel Gateway College, I continue to leverage my experience from industry and academia to provide expertise in systems analysis and evaluation, project management, and consensus building among constituents, as we build tomorrow’s entry-level medical workforce. Former emergency manager for 1000+ bed tertiary healthcare system and health sciences university, with an emphasis on crisis and emergency communication, implementation of technology, training and education. Passion for making the world a better and safer place through functional preparedness, capacity building, and risk reduction. Former full-time educator in emergency medical care and emergency preparedness & response. Keeps one foot in the classroom as assistant clinical professor (voluntary) in public health and allied health studies.
