Strategy and Development: Research on the technical and regulatory aspects of emerging technologies, digital services (OTT, IOT, Cloud...etc.), spectrum management and business strategies being adopted in the telecom industry. Collaboration with industry and analysts in consultation process over initiatives related to formulation of policy and development of regulatory frameworks. Presently working on following areas:• Radio Frequency Spectrum Management: Frequency spectrum master plan for Pakistan, Spectrum sharing framework and spectrum administrative incentive pricing.• Telecom Infrastructure sharing framework.• Over The Top (OTT) applications framework.Achievements:• Formulated Regulatory & Licensing Framework for Low Power, Short & Long Range Devices & IoT LPWAN networks in Pakistan.• Formulated Mobile Device Manufacturing Regulations & Authorization framework for Pakistan.Licensing: Evaluation (Technical, Business, Financial & Legal) of license applications/proposals and issuance of licenses in Local loop, Telecom Infrastructure, Long distance and International (Submarine CLS, Satellite, Microwave), Class value added services and Third Party Services and Application Providers.

Worked on the evolution of mobile core networks, network elements scaling, design and systems integration. My responsibilities included but not limited to the following.• Capacity Planning and network dimensioning to accommodate subscriber and traffic growth and business requirements.• Evaluating business requirements and marketing inputs to launch new services and analyze the impact on network.• Bid management & preparation of network specifications.• Technical and commercial evaluation of solutions/proposals.• Vendor management, tracking of service delivery, PAC/FAC, arranging workshops and roadmap presentations for upcoming products and services.• Preparing Project documents i.e., HLDs/LLDs, network integration plan, access control lists, routing plans etc.• Developing network optimization & improvement plans.

My responsibilities were to provide technical support in following VAS domains to Etisalat U.A.E.• HP Open media call center V.2 for voice SMS.• Scientific Atlanta IPTV Head End solutions.• Message Router gateways (First Hop).

My responsibilities as a TAC engineer included configuration, integration & testing of network elements such as Soft switches, MSG (Multi services gateways) in a number of PTCL projects. Following is a summary of projects/activities I was involved in:• Network swaps.• Network expansions.• System integrations. To provide operation & maintenance support to PTCL in following areas.• Up-gradation of switching systems.• Data configurations.• Charging and tariff settings.• Providing assistance & support to customer handling various technical issues.

Responsible to supervise installations and configurations of microwave equipments, optical fiber add drop MUX & OLTs.
