I worked on development and maintenance of a legacy core banking system. It mainly consists of Cobol modules running on CICS using VSAMs and IMS as database on z/OS. The core communicates with external systems through a Channel Manager System that includes IBM WebSphere Message broker(WMB), IBM Integration Bus(IIB), and IBM Message Queue(MQ). My main duties can be outlined as follows:• Transform business requirements and research into integration solutions that meet project objectives.• Contribute to project scope assessment, risk and cost analysis, and planning.• Take part in design prototyping, evaluation, and review.• Design, development, and testing message flows for consuming/exposing web services (SOAP/REST and XML/JSON) and serving external systems through different protocols e.g. TCP and Messaging. • Design and development of data models on WMB/IIB using message sets. • Design, development, and testing of COBOL modules (batch/online).• Support UAT and post-production deployment, troubleshooting, and tuning. • Research and development on infrastructure improvement for tuning, load balancing, monitoring, logging, service governance, reliability, etc.

The company was developing an SOA suite using different products including Mule ESB, jBPM, Drools, a domestic BAM, and an Event Processing system. I was in charge of customizing Mule ESB for the new SOA suite. My main duties included: • Integrating Mule ESB to the other components of the SOA suite. (Architecture, Data flow, Data exchange mechanism, etc.) • Design and development of ad-hoc enterprise features (e.g. administration dashboard, load balancing, failover, high availability, etc.) for Mule ESB• Design and developing of integration solutions for tailoring customers systems to the SOA suite.
