Led economic program development, including field research, causal modeling, program design, staffing, budgeting, partnerships, and monitoring and evaluation. Managed and supported programs, including providing technical assistance for a community based economic development program on a mining concession in the DRC, and managing the New Partners for Value Chain Development Program, institutionalizing the value chain approach and capacity building global staff.

Ramallah, Palestinian Territories

Managed key components of the $34 million job creation program in the West Bank and Gaza including operations, vetting, contracting, compliance, and reporting. In the West Bank, supervised eight staff in four offices, and oversaw the implementation of infrastructure projects. In Gaza, managed start-up, trained and supervised seven staff, and oversaw the development of projects. Represented the program with USAID, other programs, government, and local organizations.

Belgrade, Serbia

Provided technical and managerial guidance to five staff on the $15 million competitiveness project. Developed technical resources and delivered training to staff in value chain mapping, causal modeling, activity design, and project management. Led the startup of the green building initiative and managed activities in the wood processing, furniture, building materials, and construction sectors, leading to market penetration in four countries.

Port Au Prince, Haiti

Led the job creation, entrepreneurship, and workforce development components of $104 million employment program and the $6 million Haiti Stabilization Initiative in Cité Soleil. Provided guidance on project development, private sector partnerships and business linkages, resulting in job creation projects in the agriculture, waste management, crafts, telecommunications, construction, and services sectors. Managed international workforce development partners and oversaw skills gap analysis and establishment of specialized training programs in vocational schools. Coordinated activities with 200 staff and nine partners in six field offices. Designed and led research for the United States Institute of Peace on the United Nations' military and police efforts to secure Cité Soleil.

Podgorica, Montenegro

Managed financial, administrative, and operational aspects of $24 million economic development program with four offices in thirteen municipalities, a team of 40 staff, and 13 Local Economic Development Councils. Provided oversight and guidance to economic initiatives at the municipal and regional levels for the tourism, agriculture, and MSME sectors. Led a small grants program which distributed more than 500 grants for job creation, income generation, association strengthening, and small-scale infrastructure projects. Managed the start-up of Montenegro Connects, a fixed wireless internet access project, resulting in increased access to the internet in rural areas. Spearheaded the establishment of Montenegro’s first regional development agency, FORS Montenegro, and the establishment of the Centre for Sustainable Tourism Initiatives and Montenegro Adventures, a private tourism agency. Served on the Board of Directors of FORS Montenegro and the Wood Industry Council of Montenegro.

Bucharest, Romania

Managed the design and implementation of competitiveness activities for $13 million program in the tourism and apparel sectors. Led sector assessments and development of strategies; and technical assistance, workshops, and trainings for 70 entrepreneurs and associations. Managed three staff, short term consultants, and Peace Corps volunteers.

Sofia, Bulgaria

Provided technical assistance to Bulgarian apparel and agriculture firms in coordination with USAID’s Firm Level Assistance Group (FLAG) program.
