About Eileen Pappas

I am an emerging UX researcher whose superpower is deep listening. With an anthropologist's curiosity and the "yes and" spirit of an improv comedian, I create intimate environments where people feel comfortable opening up. I then hone in on the golden insights that reveal how to align technology with innately human experiences and desires.My path has been unconventional given I began with a foundation in medicine. Then, after a decade of working as a fashion designer for companies of various sizes and markets, as well as several years in fashion education, I found my way to UX. This multidisciplinary journey gave me a discerning perspective on user experience and sparked my belief that design should distill out the noise and leave only what brings genuine joy. I am formally trained in user research techniques including contextual inquiry, usability testing, heuristic evaluation, and survey design. But my most valuable skills are the artistry of zeroing in on human truths, and the ability to infuse even the most analytic work with creativity and empathy (skills developed over my years as an educator and mentor). I hold a BFA Hons degree in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design and a UX Design Certification from Springboard.In 2012, I won the prestigious CFDA Geoffrey Beene Design Scholarship. Most recently, my jewelry was featured in Harper’s Bazaar Greece, Teeth Magazine and The Greek Foundation. In 2024, my work was also showcased in New York Fashion Week and Munich Jewelry Week.When I'm not immersed in user research or building my artisanal fine jewelry brand, you can find me exploring my home country of Greece on foot and taking care of my rescue kittens.
