Atomic set out to create collaborative prototyping software for digital product teams. As a small startup we had a senior team with a high degree of autonomy. My role as a lead designer was focused on the product, but ranged far and wide in our efforts to grow the product.

Springload marked a shift to digital design, where my analytical brain immediately felt at home tackling user experiences with measurable outcomes. I crafted digital experiences for the New Zealand Festival and Jazz Festival, distilled complex problems into simple experiences across Kiwibank’s mobile apps, internet banking, mortgage calculators and marketing website, and worked with the New Zealand Red Cross to optimise their donations, first aid bookings and volunteer opportunities.

Designworks are behind some of New Zealand’s biggest brands. I was involved as an intermediate then senior designer in comprehensive programmes of work for Kiwibank, RSA and Metservice. My clients also included Ministry for Culture and Heritage, Te Papa Tongarewa / Museum of New Zealand and City Gallery Wellington.

While living in Edinburgh from 2008—2010, I worked primarily for The Leith Agency and 442 Design, a couple of Scotland's leading advertising and design agencies. I also managed some of my own smaller clients in the non-profit and arts sectors.

Shine was a company intent on shaking up formulaic approaches to branding and advertising, particularly in the food, beverage and hospitality industries. The renegade reinvention of Mac’s Brewery was a major part of my work here, along with other clients such as Healtheries, Gravity coffee, Burton’s coffee and Shaky Isles cafes.
