I completed my Animal Science degree in 2024, during which I built a strong foundation in key areas of livestock management, including nutrition and health. As part of my studies at UCD, I spent a semester abroad at Purdue University in the United States. A highlight of this experience was volunteering at the Purdue Swine Research Unit, where I had the opportunity to write my own research paper.Though I don't come from an agricultural background, I have turned this into a strength. My curiosity and eagerness to learn have driven me to gain a deep understanding of the ever-evolving agricultural sector. During my professional work placement, I gained invaluable hands-on experience with the National Cattle Breeding Centre and a variety of farming enterprises, including dairy, sheep, beef, and poultry operations.In my current role as communications officer I assist with Agri Aware's mission to bridge the gap between those from non-agricultural backgrounds and the farming community, delivering clear and accessible messaging to enhance agricultural literacy.
