As a former Director of Engineering R&D at Broadcom, I led and developed cutting-edge solutions for web protection, and threat risk analysis using artificial intelligence and machine learning, as well as other technologies and techniques. I oversaw research and engineering teams for the Symantec Enterprise Division, focused on improving the efficacy and efficiency of identifying and mitigating cyber security threats through URL reputation techniques.I also led the engineering research and development for multiple Symantec's Cloud Secure Web Gateway (formerly known as Web Security Services, or WSS) related products and services focused on high performance near-real time reporting services, both cloud-based and on-premise, capable of processing hundreds of millions of web access log lines per hour and stream them for ingestion into the service customers' SIEM platforms, among other uses.Led the on-time migration of the Cloud SWG reporting services systems from 50+ co-located data centers to AWS, improving engineering’s capability to maintain, deploy, and monitor the service, and improving service stability.Led the migration of the WSS Reporting Services to GCP, including re-architecture, containerization, and migration to Kubernetes, resulting from the acquisition of Symantec Enterprise Division by Broadcom, Inc.My mission was to leverage my skills and the skills and expertise of my teams to create innovative and impactful solutions for the analysis of network traffic, protection of customer networks, and detection of cyber threats.
