Architected and managed development (scrum master & product owner) of end-to-end security solution for transaction based energy management (Smart Grid) product supporting 10 million endpoints and one billion transactions per day. Architecture encompassed all security aspects including: data center architecture, basic network topology, firewall placement, VLAN configuration, intrusion detection, forensic capabilities, custom ECC PKI, private SSL Certificate Authority (CA), custom ECC code signing, remote firmware upgrade authentication, custom key establishment protocol, endpoint authentication, message authentication, patch management, and endpoint policy management. Solution has elements integrated into proprietary low power embedded hardware and enterprise applications with a .NET/IIS/C#/SQL/Oracle software stack. Product operates in on premises, SaaS, PaaS (Cloud), and IaaS environments.• Successfully introduced consulting client to enterprise agile processes and coached teams, scrum masters and product owners in an operational development setting for more than three years. Developed and installed techniques that facilitate transitioning from waterfall to agile (scrum) development. Applied agile concepts in adapting waterfall methods for compatibility in a scrum environment.• Established local software development operation for U.K. based company and served as its director until purchased by a telecom giant nine months later. This operation utilized scrum like agile development practices.• Investigated market opportunities, scoped market size, identified possible sales channels, and estimated BOM/GM for a line of Technical School microprocessor lab products. Coded demonstration application for 32-bit ARM processor in C programming language and companion Microsoft Windows application in C# programming language. Assembled a completely open source ARM tool chain and developed demonstration MS Windows application using C#.

• Successfully lead Australian Defence Force (ADF) transportable triband WGS ground terminal design team. This team delivered a 500-page design package, plus drawings, describing full implementation details/analysis for MIL-STD-188-164, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, AS3000, GHS, low detectability, and all other customer specific requirements.• Served as system engineer, technical program lead and delivered DataPath’s first 4.2m antenna Deployable Ku-Band Earth Terminal (DKET). This terminal has been in service for 1.5 years providing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Beyond Line of Sight (BLoS) navigation, telemetry and mission data communications links.• Developed DataPath’s next generation MIL-STD-188-164C WGS satellite ground terminal architecture. This architecture dramatically reduces the physical footprint, core power requirements and cooling (air conditioning) demands for tactical ground terminals.• Technical program manager leading development of Unit Hub SATCOM Trucks (UHSTs) replacement product. The design is better than 95% complete, on schedule and under budget for both non-recurring engineering and production cost.• Acted as explicit and implicit functional manager for several groups to assist with high workloads and during several organizational changes. Introduced KANBAN, JIRA and other agile tools and approaches beyond simply enterprise software.

Established Program Management Office (PMO) processes for developing a healthcare compliant hybrid cloud. Oversaw project methodologies and managed multiple project teams.Concurrently acted as the Program Manager and project manager for the most complex system/software development projects.Assumed Senior Product Manager and Product Owner roles during long period of staff transition. Supervised UX, BA and graphic design staff in developing workflows, wireframes and production graphics for client facing dual branded API Management portal. Responsible for user stories documented using Jira.Delivered two major system releases in three months. The program scope encompassed 25% system development, 25% software development, 35% business process development, 10% client engagement and 5% vendor management. • Professionalized and normalized mobile phone PMO operation by aligning processes and methods across organizations and increasing the PMP certified staff by more than 1,000% through professional development (no new staff).• Developed, as mobile phone platform engineering director, R&D program plan for Panasonic’s first UMTS mobile phone platform. Sold and gained acceptance of the plan from the Company’s, CTO, Board of Directors and various divisional presidents.• Established a mobile phone Platform Engineering group that created two generations of advanced mobile phone platforms covering both GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSPDA technologies.• Implemented successful large-scale collaborative mobile phone R&D operation utilizing the concept of a product and platform development ecosystems as an alternative to vertically integrated product development.• Created Product Engineering group that won multiple consecutive AT&T supplier awards.• Reconstructed Product Verification Group (SQA + HW QA + Compliance) following a project meltdown and established a formal Systems Engineering function.
