I am a field and process oriented marine ecologist with expertise in biogeochemistry, end-to-end genomic analyses, and food web dynamics using isotope tracer studies. The strength of using both metagenomics and isotopes lies in the ability to tackle a variety of applied and fundamental phytoplankton topics ranging from eutrophication in estuarine systems, detection of indicator species, tracking of limiting nutrients, the controls of open ocean productivity under shifting regimes, and so many more.
