Promoted to the Division of Disease Control, I work within the Cross-Bureau Collaboration Unit leading projects that intersect all bureaus and diseases and require leadership from the Division. I lend my years of expertise to projects that collapse silos and encourage program integration, strengthening disease control interventions for New York's most vulnerable populations. Specifically, I am responsible for building interdivisional coalitions and task forces, planning educational programs and developing funding opportunities for novel and cross-cutting Divisional priorities. In my role, I also interact with policy-makers and advocate for progressive policy measures to benefit the health of all New Yorkers.

I am responsible for examining the health policies that impact hepatitis service delivery, including current and emerging trends. I carefully plan the annual Viral Hepatitis Policy Agenda and work with government officials, legislators and community advocates to realize the policy priorities. To address the changing policy landscape, I devise appropriate health policy responses and recommend programmatic interventions to aid underserved and at-risk populations in NYC.I facilitate new, and enhance existing relationships with Federal agencies such as the CDC and CMS, and identify and interpret regulatory and legislative issues that may impact our programmatic decisions.

As New York City’s Viral Hepatitis Prevention Coordinator, I ran the Office of Viral Hepatitis Coordination within the Division of Disease Control. To control the spread of viral hepatitis in New York City I employed a three-pronged strategy: 1) Training health professionals and educating the public, 2) Identifying people exposed to hepatitis B and C, and 3) Locating and enhancing referral resources for follow-up medical care.
