I currently help with our business of making and selling Bridle Bits. My husband Jim manufactors and designs the product for the Western Industry. Most of our products are made right here at the house. We machine some parts out, to aid in the production. Jim has a variety of products that fit most western industry programs. Tim McQuay has used our product to win the Reining Futurity. The president of the National Cutting Horse Association, Chubby Turner has used Jim's bits. The Pleasure Horse Industry also uses our product, Cleve Wells is a nine times Worlds Champion and has been a customer of ours for years. Our product is made of a durable high grade metal,and some stainless steel material. We have helped many to get ahead in their business with our bits, it's really nice to see someone advance in their program with our product at hand.

I had the opportunity to work for Right of Way Land Services out of Ft. Worth, Tx. While there I operated as a Professional Landman, my job entailed researching out the titles to various acreages pertaining to the gas lease. Mineral Title information was collected back to soverienty on each tract of land. Before ROWLS, I had apprenticed under a gentleman who owned and operated his own Appraisal offices in the state of Texas, so I learned an extensive amount of information and skills before going to work in Ft. Worth. While there I worked with a great group of people who were also at the top of their fields. Other responsibilities included Drillsite information, Mapping out of flowcharts, illustrating the chain of title on that tract of land. I was taught to map all tracts out by hand but while at ROWLS I learned the use of Deed Plotter which aided in the advancement of the project. Once you finished with your tract of land, then the Company Land Attorney would sit down and review it for presentation to the Gas Co., so the process of drilling could take place.

When my youngest son started school, I decided it was time to get involved with the city. I started out sitting on the city council for 8 months or so, before I knew it, the council awarded me with the title of Mayor Pro Tem. That position involves signing checks when the Mayor isn't available, manageing the meeting if Mayor isn't present. So I had alot of research to do to affiliate me with the actions of the city business. Within a couple of months as the Pro Tem, our City Mayor resigned her position. That automatically put me up for the seat, well I looked at is as a challenge and thought if worse comes to worse I can always resign..The seat is a two year term. I begin with our city income. We are a small town and only have our Water/Sewer as an income along with our Advalorum Taxes..We were in dire need of a new Sewer System and no money. So I went to work with some collegues and approached the State of Texas with a grant. We competed against 33 others cities in the same situation as ourselves..We ended up getting first place in the listings for the grant, that was a huge turn around for this town. From there I went on to the Housing Developement end of it. We got funded for nine brand new homes with our statistics as they stood. After the housing grant, I approached the town itself. We put together a building committee and voted in some building codes for newcomers and existing houses. Hired a code enforcement officer and went to work on cleaning up a few houses here in town. I had the means to hire a dog catcher for a short period of time. We worked hard the first three years to get the budget under control and turned around. Without raising taxes every year, by the fourth year in office we had a substancial and workable budget. I had the opportunity to put together a gas pool for the cities income. I proceeded to meet with Land Attorneys' and gathered around 200 acres for the pool. I negotiated a contract for two years with a two year option.
