I am a member elected director of the IAG's employer superannuation plan, one of the top 10 corporate superannuation plan in Australia.This new role gives me the opportunity to sit on the other side of the fence, as a board director, working with the superannuation plan management on how to transform the corporate superannuation plan to meet with the the ever changing regulatory changes, Stronger Super and MySuper. Other than governing the management team to set up new business plan, the board also needs to support the business as usual activities for the benefit of the members of the plan.With my strong finance, financial/statutory reporting and audit experiences, I am invited to join the Risk Management and Compliance Committee. This committee's core responsibilities delegated from the Board include:- ensure integrity of internal and external financial reporting; and- ensure sound risk management and compliance framework are in place.The core activities other than the normal responsibilities during 2012 and 2013 are:- selecting and appointing the new Independent non-executive Director who is also the Chair person of the Board; and- oversight the application of MySuper application.
