I undertook a summer internship where I developed and implemented a social media strategy for Xytal, which involved setting up and managing their Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn accounts. I travelled around the UK to generate and create content, taking photos and videos of their products in action. I worked with the CEO and key stakeholders to build an effective social media presence to generate engagement with their target audience and develop a following.

The role involved contributing to social media and marketing activities, leading a variety of on and off-campus activities including taster days, open days and campus tours. Key skills that I demonstrated were flexibility, leadership, teamwork and clear, confident communication.

After previously working at Smiggle in Taunton for 11 months, I was transferred to their store in Worcester due to moving there for University. The role remained very much the same, with key tasks being to engage and build relationships with customers, manage stock and assist in meeting store sales and promotional targets through working effectively as part of a team.

I assisted in the development of Percol’s plastic free packaging design, the first of its kind in the UK coffee market. This involved analysing designs generated from an outsourced company and suggesting alternative techniques for a more sophisticated looking pack. Consumer understanding and raising brand awareness were key objectives.

This role with a fast-growing high street retailer, involved serving and interacting with customers. In addition to advising on products and promotions, I managed stock control and worked hard to meet store and visual merchandising targets. Great communication, understanding customer needs and teamwork were key skills that I demonstrated.
