I focused on key components such as close reading, vocabulary development, writing instruction, and analysis of informational texts, fiction, and poetry.During this project, I also took into account issues of equity and access, ensuring that my curriculum was flexible enough to meet the needs of a diverse student population. The stakes for this district-wide literacy curriculum were very high, as the literacy rates in the district were classified as high-need.To ensure success, I collaborated with district-level administrators, instructional coaches, and teachers to create and implement professional development opportunities that would support teachers in delivering high-quality literacy instruction. Through my leadership and project management skills, I was able to develop and implement a comprehensive literacy curriculum that impacted hundreds of students and professional teachers across the district.
