Hello and welcome to my profile! I'm Elijah Alexander and I am a recent graduate from the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon with my B.S. in Psychology. My passions include psychopathology, diversity, equity, and inclusion development, project management, and social relationship research. I am currently a QMHA and Medical Admin Assistant at Options Counseling and Family Services where I support the psychiatrists with basic triage and vital collection as well as handle my own caseload with high-risk families and communities as a QMHA Skills Trainer. I have also been engaged with the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program as a McNair Scholar and research journal co-editor. Some skills I offer are in trauma informed care, administrative support, research, event programming, and project development, as well as data analyses. Find EditorCenter For Translational Neuroscience Sep 2021 - Jun 2022Eugene, Oregon, United StatesFilming Interactions to Nurture Development (FIND), a video coaching program aimed to strengthen positive interactions between caregivers and children, uses select clips of adults engaging with children to reinforce the kinds of services and return responses that are the foundation of healthy engagement. FIND programs are currently available in select communities in the State of Oregon for eligible parents and caregivers of young children.FIND was developed by Dr. Fisher and colleagues, and its simple and practical approach emphasized caregivers’ strengths and capabilities. The FIND program has been implemented in both individual and group settings, and in both cases, begins with video recordings of a caregiver and child in their home or natural setting. The film is then carefully edited to show brief clips in which the caregiver is engaged in developmentally supportive interactions with the child, which is then reviewed in detail with the caregivers.
