This summary is coming from one of previous articles of EGC on Elijah KimRev. Dr. Elijah Jong Fil Kim is a visionary, and his Spirit- inspired concern for spreading the gospel throughout the world has led him from Korea to the Philippines to England and now to Boston, where he was working at Emmanuel Gospel Center (EGC) as the Vitality Project Director, in order to help implement this vision. Now he is serving as President of Pathos Foundation in Boston and Elijah International World Mission Institute in the Philippines.At first, he entered into a number of pastoral ministries in churches in metropolitan Seoul, developing his gifts of winning people for Christ and nurturing them in the faith. Rev. Kim also pioneered the Wheat Full Gospel Church in one of the poorest areas of Korea. He also devoted himself to local ministry in the church they had planted: A Grain of Wheat Christian Ministries in the Philippines. Purely on faith and without any outside help, they began construction on what is now one of the largest mission buildings including 7 storey EIWMI University building, Gymnasium with a seating capacity of 2,000 and a church building in the Philippines. Dr. Kim’s wife, Rev Amy Kim continues to serve there as senior pastor. Dr. Kim intended to return to the Philippines, but God had other plans for him. His wife had a vision of him preaching to a crowd full of Caucasian faces intermingled with people of color, all raising their hands and singing praises to God. “What is this place?” she asked, and was told, “Boston.” The Lord confirmed to Dr. Kim that his next ministry would indeed be in Boston. So without any contacts here or knowing what he would do, he decided to come to Boston in August,
2004. Their plan is Dr. Kim’s Kingdom Vision for Boston. “My main concern is to work for a revival in Boston and New England. I want to extend the Kingdom throughout this region, and bring revival to the mainline churches here.” –Dr. Kim.
