Minus projects, I'd say my skills regarding Information Technology started when I was first at Pierce College. I was a student helper, or sorta-kinda help desk. I was responsible for helping students with hardware & software alike. However, I was more interested in why things worked and how to fix them. When I got offered a position at UW for being an IT assistant, it felt as if the flood gates opened. I had more questions than answers, still pretty much do. This position helped set forward what I would like out of a future career. Whether if that was figuring out issues and why they happened, or straight up solving them. I find that in the cybersecurity field, these things are basically endless. As of now, I have experience in a multitude of things regarding cybersecurity & IT alike. The use of Splunk, SQL, Networking, C#, Python, Threat Modeling, and more are things I have confidence in doing/using. I'd say I excel in work that is a bit intricate or requires a lot of attention to detail. Or something different like manually configuring networks with subnetting. When it comes to future aspirations. I would love to work in the cybersecurity field. More so maintaining a position in becoming a Security Engineer would be an end goal for me. Though I also believe working in other cyber fields prior would benefit me just as much.
