During the traineeship at DECP, I conducted a research concerning the use of social media by employers organisations in developing countries. The study focused on the use of social media for advocacy and lobbying, as well as for attracting, connecting and retaining members of employers' organisations. In order to conduct the research, I carried out qualitative research. Furthermore, I held interviews with European employers organisations, trade unions and sectoral organisations, and I carried out an online survey for the partner organisations of DECP. The results of the research have been published in the magazine VM (verenigingsmanagement) of 'De Nederlandse Associatie'. Dutch Employers' Cooperation Programme (DECP), focuses on strengthening employers' organisations in emerging countries with the aim of contributing to the improvement of the business climate.
